Speed dating

We book the same number of men and women for every speed dating night, and from the moment you pay we are holding a seat for you and one opposite you. A ticket handed back the day before cannot be filled, and the person who would have sat across from you spends that round alone. That is why speed dating tickets are not refundable. Please only buy one for a night you mean to turn up to.

If your plans change, take yourself off the list from the event page. You can do that any time up to 10 minutes before the doors. Your place goes to someone else and your ticket stays on your account for that night, so if you change your mind again and there is still room, you can go back on. Once the doors open the list is locked and we cannot move you.

Socials, networking nights and game nights

The same rule, for a simpler reason: the ticket for these nights is what puts you on the list, and the list is how two people who picked each other find each other afterwards. It is not refundable, but you can leave the night up to 10 minutes before the doors and your ticket stays on your account for that night.

If we cancel or move a night

If we cancel, you get a full refund to the card you paid with. You do not need to ask; we do it for everyone on the list within a few days and email you when it is done.

If we move the date or venue and you cannot make the new one, email hello@1sts.events within seven days of the change and we will refund you in full.

If something went wrong

Charged twice, paid but not on the list, could not get in because of something on our side: email hello@1sts.events from the address on your account and we will put it right, usually the same day. Please email us before raising a dispute with your bank: a chargeback takes weeks to resolve, and we take a day.

How refunds arrive

Refunds go back through Square to the card you paid with. They usually show up within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.
